996 Swarf/metal Flakes On Back Wheel

  1. Last pic of the side stand (until I get a 1098 stand). I loosened it right off, moved it around on the bolts as much as it would give to lessen the side stand angle and bolted her up hard (not bought any thread lock yet) and think she looks fine now. Happy morning tinkering.

  2. great thread mate,, love your garage :),, good luck with the cush repair..

  3. SDOC 100 bike cleaning GEL is fine for disks and pads.I couldn't shift stubborn marks on calipers before. One treatment and they come up gleaming. My engine casing are mint after this same treatment. Will also get rid of all that crap built up around sprockets and sidestand.

  4. I love my garage too, thanks. Only lived here 18 months after no garage for 15 years so I'm happy as a pig in dirty stuff. Even managed to sneak in a beer fridge! Wife drew the line at Sky Sports though. Need to shift out some of the kids toys too.

  5. Oh, they are shinning! Love your wheels.

  7. I think your next job on the list should be: "Remove all the tacky stickers"...

  8. It's right up there on my to do list. Want to do it slowly a bit at a time encase the paint has faded

  9. Hair dryer and a scalpel. Then use sticker/adhesive remover pen. It's citrus based and works wonders.

  10. Not sure I should be let lose with a scalpel near paint. I have been told everything from petrol, thinners brake fluid for the sticky residue. Don't like the sound of any of them. Citrus based removal pen sounds like a winner.

  11. Hair dryer and nail (finger) to start.

  12. Isopropyl alcohol. Buy it from the chemist. Its not expensive. Its that magic stuff doctors use to get rid of the residue from sticking plasters. Its good for a lot of things. Handy to have a 1/2 litre bottle.

  13. Yeah definitely not brake fluid!!

  14. Update: OnYerBike have the cush drives but have spotted that the rear sprocket is worn where the cush drives fit. They said I need a new rear sprocket or the new cush rubbers will just fall out again. They advised a whole new chain and sprocket kit as best not to just change the rear sprocket.
I passed this back to the bike shop who bulked at the cost of a OEM Ducati sprocket so are sending a new JT sprocket for OnYerBike to fit. They were not even contemplating a whole new chain/sprocket kit.
OnYerBike are getting me to sign a waiver to say they do not recommend the JT sprocket and only recommend OEM Ducati parts.
Hopefully this saga should end soon. :(

  15. Fuck all wrong wit JT sprockets.
Sounds to me like On Yer Bike are trying to get In yer Purse!

  16. Well that's good news at least.

  17. Obviously they are sending the JT carrier too?

  18. Are you saying the JT sprocket will only fit on a JT carrier and not a OEM?

  19. OEM is a single piece steel sprocket, the JT is 2 parts a sprocket & a carrier.
