Hi, Measured front sag on my 1260 today. I weigh about 95kg and got 63mm sag in urban mode. Ant tips on would would be the ideal sag for touring and occational trackday riding? I used to set my sportsbikes with something like 30mm sag
Correct sag for your weight should be approx. 1x third of suspension travel Suspension travel on the Multi is 170mm, so approx. 56mm rider sag Id say, you are set a little on the soft side, in Urban mode. Whats it like in sports setting?
The front is set manually, not by the electronics, so easy to do for all modes once. As above, 1/3rd is about right for most. Search the multi forum, a few threads (think @Wayne58 had the most comprehensive one) describing the turns per kg and ideal settings for the DVT front end
Thanx a mill, Boomer! I got to play around a little prior to driving the kid around. Urban setting: Std sag: 63mm 1 turn in: 60mm 2 turns in: 59mm 3 turns in: 58mm Didn´t really have time to measure more than once and with help from the kid (7 yrs), so don´t trust these numbers 100% Thats all I had time for before dropping the kid off to training. Instantly the front end felt a lot more planted. The bike does steer nice standard but it didn´t really give me confidence, tough soft and smooth. With preload 3 turns in I actually got "that feel" from the front. It feels rock solid and planted. Sport mode with or without pillon+luggage (rear preload) and I can put the front just where I want it. The bike actually felt more agile as well. Love it! I need some more time to finetune/measure sag, but I really have to say this transformed the bike to my liking. For those who are used to riding sports bikes with a touch of suspension adjustment I would highly recommend fiddling a bit with front end sag.
