1200 DVT Clutch Or Gearbox Problem?

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Kevin Gove, Aug 11, 2018.

  1. Should really have said every 2 or 3000 miles.

  2. Nifty idea:)

  3. I just got a 1200 Enduro, big clunk going from neutral to 1st gear, and 1st to second is a bit clunky too. Haven't tried bleading the clutch yet (it was serviced when I bought it) ... So I guess going to 1st from neutral shouldn't clunk?

  4. Just serviced? I wonder if the used the correct oil. I've not experienced it myself but have heard that the wrong spec oil can give clutch drag.
Try bleeding the master cylinder first as above. V easy to do.

  5. Clutch drag
Check lever adjustment first to make sure you are getting full movement without excess free play.
If no joy there, bleed the clutch.

  6. Yeah perfectly happy to bleed the clutch line. Will do that and report back.

  7. The question was about 3rd to 4th. Was talking to a guy at squires last year who had the same problem. There was a broken piece in gearbox. Cannot remember exactly but it I think has something to do with the selector levers. There was a weak one that breaks. Not an expensive part but labour cost, who knows. I am sure there was a thread on here about it too. I thought it was only the pre DVT's that suffered it. Worth a check.

  8. 2 848’s, TS multi and DVT multi all had the same 3 to 4th.

Also clunky 1st normally said time to adjust the chain. Whereas hard to get into first was bleed mc end of clutch time.

Miss all this with my BMW ;)
