  1. Rehashing the old threat but is that not easy to defeat. Obvious cut line between pin and lock. If you were to cut the lock part off what happens to pin, does it stay in disc?

What if you want to be quiet so you undo the two bolts holding callipers. Then you start unbolting disc so it free floats. As you can now rotate the disc you can undo all bolts then reattach said disc lock to hold disc and wheel away.

  2. The lock part is solid. The bracket part going round and bolting onto the caliper is only to hold it on place for convenience when not locked. When the pin is in it is locked solidly to the disc.
Theres not really enough room to try and cut right through the solid part of the lock to try and remove the pin. And as its fixed on u cant spin it round to get to it easier.
Only real way i could see of defeating it is to cut the the bracket part off, then cut the disc in 2 and unbolt the disc to remove the disc with lock attached. Which is not a 5 minute job. Brake discs may look skinny but theyr hard metal and take a bit of cutting.
And if they go to all that hassle then theyd get through anything.

  3. In the end its a deterrant liek everything.... this with a rear alarmed disk lock should be enough for them to think about the bike next to yours .. ;-)

I fitted my Roadlok on Sunday and I’ve been thinking about what you said. As the lock and pin is only secured on one side, what’s stopping you disc cutting the alloy just above the lock but not above the slot cut into the alloy for the disc rotor. That way once you’ve cut through to the slot surely the lock and pin should fall away.
To be fair, it’s only there as a deterrent and it saves me carrying a heavy disc lock around, and with my memory I’d be sure at sometime or other to try and ride off with an ordinary disc lock and probably wreck my calliper.

  5. I bought and fitted one to my panigale (still have to take pics BBR soz). I like it. Comes with a very comprehensive fitting kit. Looks well made and a doddle to fit. A brazillion times better than a poxy disc lock.

  6. @broke There not a lot of room to cut with it being so close to the wheel. If ur just a thug with a 4.5" battery grinder ur going to need a few batteries and a few discs to try cut through it. Im not saying its impossible to cut through a roadlok but definitely awkward. Its not something i think you would attempt at the roadside or in a carpark. The thickest chain you could possibly carry on a motorbike would be easier to cut through imo.

The fact that u cant just angle it to get in to cut it off in 2 seconds with a grinder to me means its doing its job.
If its parked publicly and not hidden away where someone can attack it for an hour unseen i doubt any thiefs would cut it off onsite.

  7. You could just undo the allen bolts.

Its a deterrent, will never stop a determined theif. Nothing will.

  8. These sounds interesting, may I ask where you bought it from and are they specific to each bike? I just called Pro V Twins and they said Ducati no longer sell them

  9. Need to buy in a shop if possible, don't like buying online

  10. The bracket and pin would still be attached to the disk though. All the bolts do is hold it conveniently in the right place meaning all you need to carry around, with it unlocked, is the pin.

That's true, can still be lifted into the back of a van.

I've gone for a combination of devices that I use depending on the circumstances. Bike Trac, alarm, RoadLok and an f-off big approved lock and chain for home. Feel that I've done all I can to try and prevent the scrotes from taking my P&J.

  13. Good bit of kit, I just leave the pin under the seat, takes up no space at all.

  14. Pay more then  Billy has direct contact with the factory I think :bucktooth:

  15. I didn't want to say that , well I did, but I didn't have the guts :)

  16. Hehe dont wanna pay more, just always prefer if a shop sells it rather than buying stuff online, if I have no choice or there is a huge price difference then I will but prefer shops is all, apart from anything else, how do I tell the missus it costs £5 not £500 if it shows up on the statement.

  19. I'm the only official reseller in the UK with the full support from Roadlok USA, so buy with confidence :)

I'm going to set up a website soon for online sales, but my fear is I wont have the time to manage things just yet. I still work full time for a homeless charity and I also have an amazing young family that takes up all my free time.

The support I've had from this forum has been amazing and a truly thank you all for your kind words and support.
