Firstly, please read this thread to fully understand the condition of these cans: https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/split-sl-exhausts.80905/ Genuine Ducati Superlight or FE Exhaust silencers. I purchased them a while back and was going to use them on my latest project, but noticed when trial fitting them that they are both split in the same place. My plan was to strip them down, which I did to one of them, TIG weld them up, and use them. But before I got around to stripping the other one, and doing the welding, I was tempted by a pair of Remus Ducati Performance cans on EBAY which I'm using instead. My TIG welding isn't the best, I'd have done it for my own use, but others might not be satisfied with it. So I want to sell them on as they are and the buyer can get a professional to weld them up. How does £50 sound collected from Clanfield Hants. I can possibly package them up and post them, but the cost is going to be quite high because of the size and weight. Nasher.
Still got both arms! It's obviously a lot less than I paid for them, but I was stupid enough not to look at them properly for at least a year after they arrived. Getting them welded to a high cosmetic standard will cost something, and if I was buying them I'd think £50 is a fair price. Nasher.
Silly question but can these really be welded back up as i think the metal is way too thin for that exercise.???
Well that's impressive welding.........the reason i mentioned it because someone screwed a termigononi can up when i put it in for welding,he said it was too thin, but by the looks of things with that beer can anything is possible.
I'm not the best TIG welder by a long shot, but it's something I would attempt. It wouldn't have been the most tidy weld though, hence letting the buyer get it done properly. Nasher.
