Stone Chips On Carbon Fibre

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by John W, May 10, 2021.

  1. As the title says, my bike has a bunch of these after 10 years of use (clearly following my stone throwing friends too closely).

What is the best way to deal with these ? (the chips, not the friends :yum)

Can I fill them with clear nail varnish or is there something better ?

  2. Araldite Crystal, sand down, lacquer.

  3. Wet and dry, not sandpaper. Oops. And leave the araldite to cure for a good couple of days minimum.

  5. Ricky, usually I do, but we take it in turns to lead days out. I ride close to try to get them to go faster :p

Its DP carbon air inlet / beak on my multi. I think they are in the Gel coat. I will try to post a picture.

  6. Thanks Jack, I did think it would be wet and dry ;):upyeah:
I have a selection plus some rubbing compound to finish off.
I will buy some araldite and give it a go :)
