MV 750/910 Brutale have an electronic box of tricks incorporating the fuse box referred to as the SPU which is a very common source of failure. MV did produce an uprated one which lasted longer. The SPU is no longer available. Some of the electronic firms did offer a repair service but the failure rate was too high making it not viable These 2 bikes are F4750 superbikes with different clothes on. The only really big difference is the location of the ECU. It's under the tail on the sportsbike. On the 910 the ecu is either beneath the injectors above the starter motor or later models on top of the airbox. 10 to 15 years ago when SPU's were available the were close to £400 new. Secondhand ones are impossible to find nowadays. I just think someone with your skills could modify/remake a superbike loom to fit the brutale and do away with the SPU completely I swapped my 910 Brutale which I did have to fit an uprated SPU to for a Ducati 1098
@Duke of Stow I have two 1999 900ssie's, both have different looms with different coloured wires doing the same function but in the same location. So you get your parts from kojaycat?
I get some from Colin at Kojaycat, but others are not available from him or are cheaper from Farnells, RS, Mouser etc. For one or two Kojaycat is perfect.
@Duke of Stow I am just trying to get my head around the bikes being different from each other and also different from the workshop manual. Plus previous owners bodgery.
