Oil Sump Damaged Thread

  1. You dealer really doesn't want to do this.
They are fully aware that disconnecting the battery and unplugging the ECu and clocks takes away the risk..

  2. The dealer already tried the time sert in the first instance and said there was still a leak apparently once the engine warmed up. This is why the opening is bigger and needs a repair job

  3. hmm strange as when you use the time-sert correctly you also cut a small recess for the upper insert flange to ensure a flange/thread interface and also thread lock is needed.

  6. Looks like they have made a mess of that to my eyes.

  7. Has anyone got a pic of what the original hole should look like. Looks like they are not bugding on their costs so knowing its not all my fault il going to have to push back onto them

  8. From looking at images online and at your pictures it doesn’t look like it has a thread insert in it, especially as there is a section of thread completely missing. Some of the inserts I’ve used in the past have had a small top hat lip on them so you can seat them down properly and thread lock them in place.

  9. I dont know what they have been doing with the bike, so they put the kit on but then i think they have taken it out and now theres a chunk missing. And then they want a couple of grand to have the sump out and have it welded and new hole made
