UPDATE [13.10.2025] Hello everyone! I’ve been searching through threads discussing issues with the throttle body on Ducati Monster 797, Scrambler 800, and Scrambler 400, and I noticed that many riders face the same problem. Below, I’ll list all models I’m aware of that use the same throttle body — BING 78, part number 28241001A As I mentioned in my introduction post, I enjoy fixing and upgrading parts rather than simply replacing them. So, as promised, I’ll show you a reliable fix for this issue. If you’re interested in a faster throttle response, check here. To demonstrate, I bought a throttle body from a Ducati Scrambler 800 Café Racer (2019), just to show what exactly happens and why this failure can be dangerous while riding. Now, let’s talk about the cause. In my opinion, the so-called plastic pulley failure is not exactly a failure — it’s a designed weak point. I’m sure the engineers intentionally used plastic instead of metal so that it would break under stress at certain moment. However, this often ends up leaving riders stranded. That’s why I’ve developed a new aluminium replacement pulley — stronger, safer, and easy to install. The mounting method has been improved — the new version is now plug & play, with no need to disassemble the throttle body. You can read the full update in the post above.
I dont need one yet but the GF's 620ie cam has cracks appearing - do you do one for the baby Monster?
Hey Nottsbiker, I think I might have a solution that could work for the Ducati 620 IE. I posted a thread about the plastic cam issue on other Ducati models and did some digging to see which bikes had the same problem — it’s hard to know exactly how many, but I made a list based on what I could find. You can usually tell just by looking if it’s the same type of cam. I also checked a few 620 throttle bodies — some of them have a metal cam, but the IE version seems to come with a plastic one. So yeah, the cam I mentioned in my other thread should be a good fix for your bike. Here is a link to the thread https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threa...ley-plug-play-repair-kit.104218/#post-2280057
