Modified the linkpipe for the new exhaust to fit the gsxr750 project, nice snug fit now Sounds pretty good too
Changed and balanced the rear tyre on the 999, cleaned it and gave it the once over so it's ready for a day trip tomorrow. oh and mended a sole on one of my bike boots...again Ps: anyone have a good technique for removing tyres?..I use the abba bead breaker and a couple of tyre irons...it always seems like a hell of a lot of effort. I have a great mounting technique with zip ties that is super fast...but could do with easier removals.
The new tail bag works great. Held on secure, good to access and fits everything in one bag being 10L. Tool kit, tire inflator and my litelok x3. Haven't tested the waterproofing but its made out of the same material as the other northcore bag i have, which held up great in heavy rain during a recent trip.
I use one of these Tyre Bar for Aluminium Wheels | TC963 | Sealey, once you figure out the technique it's really easy and no wheel damage, tyre off and on, need to be able to hold the wheel secure for it to be be a one person job, as with many things plenty of lube makes it move more easily around the tyre
Unhooked the trickle feed, threw off the cover, kicked the tyres and fired the red beast into life. One hour blast through some of my favourite country roads and home. Should have worn thermals.
Today we went out, me on the Multistrada and Mrs Visor on her Fireblade and went to HR4K, Baffle Haus and Honey Cafe (the last stop just to get out of the rain) which was 95 miles. The weather started off quite nice and then rained, rained some more, became a biblical downpour flash flooding the roads and then relented and turned back into just rain. Kit and people now drying out and the bikes are in need of a really good clean
Rode to goldtop with the FIL for coffee and cake and too try on some of their jackets. Really like a couple of them. Weather was just right for an autumn ride, Clear blue skies and dry roads
I find my local tyre fitter the best method........But then it's the cost if you're using tyres on the sticky side
Was going to go out on the bike, but the BBC’s prediction of a 20% chance of rain got my spidy senses going. And I was right, as it absolutely shat it down pretty much all afternoon.
Spent the day finishing off the rebuild on the gsxr750 project Just need a bit of filler and paint in a couple of places, then it's finished
Changed the language setting on the new V4 from Italian to English. Surprisingly easy once I’d translated a few Italian words. Looking forward to getting it registered but that’s not going to be any time soon.
