I definitely forgot the John Lennon song - as ridiculous as that sounds! Actually its my joint fave with Greg. Though Eric Idles little ditty does deserve a dishonorable mention.I don't think I've ever heard Joni's Xmas tune before.
one reminded me of the other in the theme - simply unattainable and full of confusing mystery, might be why Billy Joel came to include some of the lyrics in:-
Joni's 'River' wins hands down, but for me it's not a Christmas song like the others - just a great song that has the word Christmas in it
same here, yes it was/is - glad you remembered it, happy song/ happy memories of the Christmas when that came out. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stop_the_Cavalry fascinating - "never intended as a Christmas song, was actually meant to be an anti-war protest".. Makes me think of "Galveston" that got most success with Glenn Campbell in a mainly uplifting style although the original writer was actually prodding the thinking behind Vietnam in reality.
can't believe it.. although looking at the details, it was obviously on the cards. What colour are those Ferraris? "blood red son, blood red" RIP Chris
