You did an impressive number of miles in the time you had it, given that! I will slather it in ACF50 - they do seem to fare well from the photos of the higher mileage examples I have seen. Hopefully it won't be an impossible sale at 50k miles in 2-3y - at least there should be more with that mileage on the market then! I am a few cm taller and will fit a little deflector on the top of the original - collecting the originals this weekend. I'm used to a tall screen on my GS, and on the high setting I was wanting just a little more! Good to know, it'll be interesting to try SBS, hopefully preferable. I'd like them to feel a little more confidence inspiring. Thanks so much for the info Let's stay in touch - maybe I can buy your current one in the future
> I want to use the hell out of it and not be too precious of it! I can confirm this is the correct way to ride. I'm also a new-to-Ducati owner as of Monday, and like you I intend to ride the year round, through the crusty salt to 50k, hopefully beyond. Let's hope we both make it without having to buy another one! Let the experiment begin...
Hello! I'm the owner between Hills100 and yourself! Had it a year and really loved it. I bought a pikes peak and have a carbon screen/deflector so yours has my standard pikes peak screen. I put the chain on, sick of the standard one rusting. Used it all year never had a single problem, great bike! Never changed the pads, put new tires on it when I bought it Nov 2024. I also put the tail tidy on
Wow, great to know, thanks! I saw you had an issue with the screen mount threads - you bought a new mounting bracket? Like for like Ducati one? I intend to put a stock clear screen back on - I bought one locally yesterday. Quite excited for tomorrow!
Yes and that has a problem too! But longer bolt put in from a side panel and it bit, was just top two threads not allowing it to catch. Anything else let me know and good choice!
@baines93 congratulations on your purchase, they’re excellent bikes. re front brake pads try Brembo 07BB37SA (red) or the LA (white) version. I use them in mine and rate them. The SA are Brembo’s after market road pads for the Pani, Streetfighter, Pikes Peak, Multi V4, anything which uses the same caliper. The LA are more specific for the MultiV4S/Pikes Peak where one might be touring and doing higher mileages. Instead of ACF50, I’ve been getting good results with XCP Professional Rust Blocker Clesr Coat. It’s much much easier to apply direct from the bottle than ACF50 regardless of its temperature. Get the 500ml refillable spray bottle rather than the aerosol, better value for money and it’s not yet refused to spray a mist even when the temperature has been <5c.
Agree with the XCP comments, I think it works better, also the non clear coat for places that get a bit more crap on them, but only where you can't see it, it is a bit orangey and dust etc will stick to it sometimes. Clear coat is great for areas you can see.
Nothing wrong with a high miler...my z is just about to hit 30k (i got it at 7k) - if its been looked after then you shouldnt have an issue.....ive kept every receipt and bit of paper that mines ever had ( got a folder about 2" thick )
