Streetfighter/panigale V2 Recall

  1. Has everyone with a 25/26 Streetfighter and Panigale V2 had the recall notification yet ?

Apparently they are not safe to ride until checked as the abs system could lock the brakes on at any time !

They could have said before last summers thrashing through the country roads.

I think it’s just Ducati covering their backs but mine will have to wait until at least spring as it’s not coming out of the garage before then anyway.

  2. I’m not sure it can cause a brake lock up of its own accord. It’s more a case of the fuse could go* which disables the abs which in turn may result in a locked wheel if one grabs too much brake too quickly.

    * Apparently there are 2 fuses for the ABS circuit, a lower rated one and a higher rated one, and they were inserted the wrong way on some bikes ie the lower rated fuse was put in the slot which should hold the higher rated one; if it blows the abs is disabled.

I must look into it in more detail and get the fuse ratings and their exact location.

  3. Fuses 14 & 15 in the attached diagram have been incorrectly inserted on some bikes. Easy enough to check yourself.

  4. Tbh most people can just check themselves! Such a tiny recall. Unlike honda currently…

  5. It used to be that any recall was cataclysmic for the manufacture. These days it’s almost unusual for a bike not to have a recall.

  6. Ah, so that’s what is. I will have to take a look. The way the word the letter is as if the brakes are going to launch you over the bars.

  7. I haven’t seen the letter, just know about the recall.

  8. Honda have an issue with two bikes where cylinder liners are failing, that’s errrr awkward

  9. Is it cylinder liners? I thought I saw a recall for con-rods breaking causing engine seizure. CBR600 andCBR1000 24/25 models. Most unusual for Honda.

  10. maybe two of them!! But deffo something to do with cylinder liners causing excessive oil use and starvation resulting in bottom end failure, which I guess would probably result in the conrods leaving the building
