I've done both across several providers over the last few years. Always done online, and always gone without a hitch. IME, sign up with new provider and let them do the rest. No need to inform old provider.
Tell them to jog on. They have no power to do anything other than write threatening letters so you do not need to respect their authoritah!
Could you translate that from technical gobbledygook to English that an old age pensioner can understand please Andy
Okay, I googled it, sadly fibre to property is not available unless I’m willing to go to Virgin, which I’m not, under any circumstances. Andy
I was letting the new utilities supplier do it all but after 3 hours plus of fucking about on their "chat" (because you cant speak to a human nowadays) they still couldn't tell me if they'd successfully made the switch. So I rang BG back up whilst this was still going on, got a much better deal on my gas, a slightly better deal on my electric and £100 credit into the bargain for staying with them. And based on my usage and the credit, I'm slightly up (few quid) on what I would have had if I'd gone over to the new supplier. Fuck 'em!
Paid the rip off licence fee for my boat, nearly £600 for about 42 miles of water. After 28 years it will be my last year on that river and the boat may need to go into storage next year.
I love being on the water, it’s the licence costs. It used to be less than half that and it will go up 16 percent every year now and for such a short stretch of water, the bad state of the locks, lack of maintenance etc it’s not worth it. I will try to get the boat on another waterway but finding a mooring is difficult so it may have to go into storage until I can move it elsewhere. Another greedy charity unfortunately.
The trouble is @Zeus, you'll still need to pay insurance if you want it covered for theft and/or damage, and storage is likely to be equivalent to the £600, or more. It costs me roughly that to keep my 6.5M RIB on it's trailer at a local caravan Storage place, and that's discounted as I've been there years. And I assume in your case, just paying storage costs means you can't even use it if you want to.
My insurance is £150 a year, the mooring fees are £1000 and the river licence is £600. If I dry store it at my marina it will be the same as the mooring fee and it will have to be insured, I’ll still save the £600 as it’s not in the water. No i can’t use it as it needs to be craned but I can use it as a caravan on site still! Hopefully I’ll find another waterway to sail it to.
Just finished a 72 hour fast about an hour ago. It wasn’t as bad as I was expecting, but towards the end all I could think about was food (for a change!).
It’s my first one, so was a sort of training fast! I need to be fairly sensible with it, as I’m still going to the gym and swimming 2-4k a day while fasting. I achieved the results I wanted, so it’s all good.
I fitted another kitchen tap yesterday, but what's it with clients that don't remove all their shite cleaning products etc from the sink base unit before i arrive on site.
I often go to decorate a room and the customer has left everything in place, furniture, ornaments, the lot.
it's a good feeling at the end isn't it? - i think that's supposed to be the safest time period without complications. Done this around 3 times over the years, a massive willpower test. Aren't we lucky we have a choice? - to resume eating!
