What Fuel Are You Using Now Esso Has Ethanol In Its E5

  1. Interesting channel and have subscribed as be interested in his longevity test he is conducting.
The reason I always leave the tank brimmed over winter is the concerns regarding rust developing in the tank especially if there is ethanol in the fuel.
Will take a look at his channel for tests Shell and Esso.

  2. Boilerhouse garage have just published a re-test of Tesco Momentum 99 E5 fuel. Bad news, it appears that the ethanol content of this fuel is now up to 4.0%, probably due to the dumping of unlimited quantities of corn alcohol from the USA under the latest trade deal.

Another video from the same channel shows that Tesco E10 fuel is now up to 8% ethanol. I'm guessing that other supermarkets will follow suit, if they haven't already.

I'm off to investigate Ethanol Removers.

  3. Still using E5 from local forecourts, out and about in Welsh Wales it is difficult to find it in more rural locations. We're building a mental math on where the locations are that stock it.

  4. If my bike is sitting for more than a couple months I drain the fuel from the tank and use ASPEN storage fuel (it has no Ethanol, Aromatics or Benzene)

Otherwise I use BP's or Shell's premium. It works for me.

  5. I use Shell's Premium and store it in the bike over winter, bike started first time a couple of weeks back. A good run out then top up wish fresh Shell Premium fuel.
