For those who have blanked off the void in the swingarm, can I ask how you have done it and what you have used?
Hi, I’m looking to get one of these blanking plates made as now have a mate with a decent 3d printer. I remember a file for this somewhere on the forum a few years ago but can’t see it anywhere now, does anyone have it?
I've no sodding clue what blanks you mean, but if you need something printed and tested, I can do it on my printer and 1260. I can't find any stl files related to a ducati swingarm blank online though.
https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/rear-wheel-hub-2010-2015-problem.57734/ Could bit this thread, but the links don't go to any stl files or products.
Unfortunately Shapeways went bankrupt in 2024. The company was acquired by a European concern but it would appear the Shapeways website was not kept updated.
The 1260 doesn't have the gaping hole that the mentioned blanking plug is designed to fit. It does have some smaller ones though AFAIK. It appears, from what I've read, that these are hidden under the chain slider. When I stripped the rear hub to clean and grease on my previous 1260 there was quite a bit of road cack in there all the same. I used builders expanding foam on that to plug the void, same as I did on a couple of Honda VFRs I had previously (common known mod to fix the same problem).
