Trivial Things People Do That Make You Disproportionately Cross

  1. Thats expensive and I would never accept a 12.5% service charge in the UK being added to my bill.

    PS.
Come to Nantwich, there's none of that BS.

  2. Why is it butchers can never sell you the amount you ask for?
It’s always seems to be a case of, ‘Oh sorry it’s little over, is that alright’?
    Why is this?
You don’t find this happening with other purchases.
Last time I bought a Ducati I didn’t get the bike and a spare wheel ‘oh sorry it’s a little over, is that alright’ ?
When ordering a pint you never need a second glass!

  3. I'm lucky if i last long enough in our local butchers to get past the fat racist dickheads anti uk ramblings.
Every single time despite me telling him i have no interest in his political views on multiple occasions.

  4. My local butcher is such a dickhead he’s the reason I gave up eating meat and became a vegetarian

  5. When you go to Tesco and buy a (very expensive) pack of liver, for example, it's full of shreds and scraps and swimming in pink sludge to make it up to the stated weight. A proper butcher cuts and cleans it properly and if an extra slice takes the order over the requested weight I'd rather pay for it than have a pack half full of useless shavings.
I'm using supermarkets less and less for meat now and local butchers more and more. It's usually as cheap or cheaper and always vastly better quality.

  7. I've been to bike dealers who were utter dickheads but it's never occurred to me to give up riding motorcycles and take to public transport or driving Chinese battery cars in moral protest. Martyrdom has never made sense to me - you lose it all while no one else gains a thing or changes their views and behaviour nor pauses for one second to commemorate your sacrifice.

  10. Sorry, not sure i get the joke.

To be clear he used the "W" word to describe black people in front of me and another customer, so as far as i'm concerned it's got absolutely fuck all to do with martydom, rather having a decent set of moral guidelines instead.
Whether my lack of future business effects him or not or whether anyone "gains" from it or not, isnt really my concern.

  13. definitely on point - i'm about to inherit some butcher's "cutting equipment" - bone saw, large scary knives etc.

Wife has never been found, all these years later.

  16. Certainly the case with fish for us.

During Covid our golf club caterer kept going by doing fruit & veg boxes and meat & fish orders from his suppliers as well as doing ready meals to reheat. He has now moved on but he left us the details of the fish supplier who we now use instead of the supermarket; it isn't necessarily cheaper but the quality is much better.
