For the time being I’ve modified the Garmin mounting plate, but I’m not really happy with it as the unit is hung on only two screws, previously it was four.

It's a shame the power connection isn't built in as that's one of the really good things about the Evotech TomTom bracket I have. Just lock the unit in and out without separately connecting and disconnecting the power cable.
If your current system works for you then don't change it. Spend your money on fuel and fun. Download maps and you don't have to worry about signal strength. Although I have traveled in the mountains around UK and Europe and barely ever notice loss of signal With regards your Senna, if you really want to interact then buy a voice controlled Senna or Cardo. The commands are simple and straightforward.
Seems most people want to be able to take the unit with them when they leave the bike. I didn't want another device to carry, so have had mine (not Carpuride) permanently attached to my KTM and connected to a switched live for the last two years without issue. Details here.
With the BM05 the unit is locked to the bike and you need a special key to release. I intend to leave mine on the bike when touring and only remove for washing etc.
It’s on and working, the mount needs finessing. What do people do with the unwanted remote control lead that needs terminating so it’s water proof?
I can’t believe how easily it paired and worked, it may have taken 30 seconds. I haven’t attempted to customise it, but it’s not going to take much.
