V4 Carpuride For V4 Rally

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by ymfb, Mar 27, 2026.

  1. I’m not sure that’s what I need, well the one I’ve seen as it adds to the distance.https://evotech-performance.com/products/evotech-carpuride-interface-plate-1

im looking to minimise the distance as that reduces the wobble and stress on the fixing. For the time being I’ve modified the Garmin mounting plate, but I’m not really happy with it as the unit is hung on only two screws, previously it was four.

  2. It's a shame the power connection isn't built in as that's one of the really good things about the Evotech TomTom bracket I have.
Just lock the unit in and out without separately connecting and disconnecting the power cable.

  3. If your current system works for you then don't change it. Spend your money on fuel and fun.

Download maps and you don't have to worry about signal strength. Although I have traveled in the mountains around UK and Europe and barely ever notice loss of signal

With regards your Senna, if you really want to interact then buy a voice controlled Senna or Cardo. The commands are simple and straightforward.

  4. Seems most people want to be able to take the unit with them when they leave the bike. I didn't want another device to carry, so have had mine (not Carpuride) permanently attached to my KTM and connected to a switched live for the last two years without issue. Details here.

  5. With the BM05 the unit is locked to the bike and you need a special key to release. I intend to leave mine on the bike when touring and only remove for washing etc.

  6. It’s on and working, the mount needs finessing.

What do people do with the unwanted remote control lead that needs terminating so it’s water proof?

  8. I can’t believe how easily it paired and worked, it may have taken 30 seconds. I haven’t attempted to customise it, but it’s not going to take much.

  9. I have mixed feelings about these systems. Whilst I’d like the ease of Apple CarPlay and MRA to navigate I would have concerns about the battery life on my phone and the heat it generates using MRA (I found this when using it in a car). Also my chum had a lot of issues starting routes and continuing routes when he was using his last year in France.
I think I’ll stick with my Garmin XT for now but keep watching with interest.

  10. MRA seems to have got a lot better in battery and heat usage in the past 6 months. The dev team have worked hard with HERE (the routing software supplier) to make it more efficient. There have been a lot less complaints in their forums recently.

However, the MRA Carplay interface (which is slightly different to the iPhone interface) isn't yet a solid as it could be, so I'd wait maybe another 6 months to see how that shapes up.

In terms of routing issues, it's a complex bit of software with a lot of options that can tie innocent users in knots, me included in the early days. I've used the app since it was in beta testing and it's definitely improved massively. I don't bother with a satnav any more - I just mount my phone on the bike and hook it up to the DIN power socket, if it's a long day ride.
