I thought I would start a new thread to make searches easier. I'm trying to source the power aux/gps power connector for the Garmin XT2. The JST pigtail is not behind the display like it is in the original DesertX. The web page for the new bike lists two USB connections which can be used to power GPS. My local dealer was not able to find the pig tail on the wiring diagram they had. It was an early release doc and was only in Italian but it was defo not there. The two white plugs in the pic below come from the loom then go via a sealed box (regulator/step down/) to the USB ports. I'm thinking I could reroute one of the USB power cable to the satnav. Even better if I could install a Y splitter I could keep both (noting current draw requirements). Does anyone know what type of connector it is. I've tested it and its 13.2V which is fine for the XT2 cable.
It's the same as the Multistrada V2 (MY2025+ 890cc) - no dedicated Sat Nav power socket, use a splitter cable of the USB connector feed.
XT2 installed and working on USB as a interim measure. Not sure why Ducati thought this was a good idea! The cable sticks out of the XT2 about 1/3 of the way down the main display. At least the location to break into the loom is way easier to get to than it is on the Multi V2.
MT09 Y splitter cable from fleebay all fitted and GPS is powered via the cradle. The Y split to the usb works just fine but the GPS refused to power up/charge. Got a multimeter on the cradle contacts and it was showing 13V but no powering the GPS. I remembers reading about having to swap polarity so I gave it a go. Hey presto it now works. USB splitter is stock but red and black on the GPS side had to be swapped (red to back and black to red) The splitter was a little long but fits in behind the dash ok as there is loads of room. I did chop 2/3 of the Garmin cable off as it's way too long. Cable routed round the back of the screen and in one of the vent holes you can see in the pic above. Need to find some way to tac it down but it's not going anywhere.
