  7. Road fund license (purchase tax) as VED wasn't introduced until 1937?
    If the duty paid was £28 I wonder the bike cost to buy? Must have been a shed load of money in those days.
     
  8. The date is April '27 so I'd say this is current IOM tax disc (still a requirement there). This is getting a bit nerdy :D...

  16. Issue date stamp is 2026. Standard motorcycle VEL is £28.00.
    28 quid in 1927 would be the equivalent of over £2.2K in today’s money.

  18. Is that all it costs in the IOM? £121 here :astonished: though I suppose they haven't got many roads to pay for plus, a bike of that age would be free tax here.

    Standard rate income tax - 10%
    Higher rate income tax - 21%
    National insurance (basic) - 11%
