The Cyclists/ebikers

  1. I’ve cleaned the gravel bike as I can’t ride it. The road bike, which hasn’t been used probably since September maybe October is sticking to its high maintenance reputation. Two flat tyres, rear needed the tyre moving enough for me to rod through the valve core. Drive needs a proper clean, which I will start as soon as I can unplug it. Di2 is obviously flat as, but looks to be ok, if it completes charging and the weather stays ok, I might get out later.
I will phone the LBS tomorrow about the gravel bikes SRAM AXS, I’m hoping it can easily be re-paired as I’m not quite ready for it’s pre LEJOG service.

It has new F & R pads, I’m hopeless at measuring the chain, but wouldn’t be surprised if that needs changing before I set off.

  2. just buy one on these

  3. Eventually got out on the roadie and fantastic, I always forget just how good it is and the first ride in the spring is always amazingly quick. After about a mile it turned all biblical and I thought someone is telling me to knock it on the head, so I did. Annoying as I felt really good after yesterday’s 69 mile adventure. Now im going to have to clean it properly again.

  6. A two minute conversation with my LBS this morning had the SRAM AXS all fixed.

  7. Out for a little trundle, spotted on the route deer.
I'm back in the cockpit as I've given my Son a challenge to ride the FredWhittonChallenge route in October when he returns from working in Aus, 112miles around the Lake district.

  8. Worse, but there's less of them so it not as widespread.

Then again a large 600jk marauding, spooked animal can do a great deal of damage so...

  9. Yes, plenty of footage online of close passes and other attempts to disrupt horse riders.

But as Jez stated there are less of them and the consequences for your car are much more than fetching off a cyclist.

  10. Not looked on here much after selling my 1198, one of the best bikes I’ve ever rode, not too powerful and handling

But after hurting myself a few years ago packed in the track stuff and started ‍♂️ to get a little fitter, wish I’d done years ago. Had some good hols the past few years now with rather than ️

  11. Pyrenees? Looks fantastic.

If I may venture your saddle doesn't look level, is this your preferred position due to fit/comfort?

  13. Today was 13/18 of our LEJOG and a short 27 miles for a rest annd recharge. The last few days are average 50 miles per day.

Cornwall & Devon followed by Shap were the hardest days all over 5,000 ft of climbing.

Im hoping the rest is as good as the start, but whatever happens now it’s been an amazing adventure which I will not forget.

  14. From what I've been told Cornwall/Devon are the worst leg biters along LeJog.

Hope it stays mostly dry for you
