Hi everyone, I wanted to share a little of my story as I make my return to the Ducati family. My relationship with the Tamburini design started in the 90s when I was young and didn't know any different. Back then Ducati remained firmly in the aspiration category - something to dream about rather than own. It was enough to light a fire though, and having firmly settled on V-twins after my TL1000S, it was always going to be a Ducati eventually. My love affair with the marque was unfortunately cut short by a rather unwelcome tax bill and the harsh reality that motorcycles don't pay the bills. The bike had to go and life moved on. Countless bikes followed over the years, including an ill-fated foray into BMW territory which I can only describe as something I'd rather forget. It confirmed what I already knew - nothing else quite does what a V-twin does. So the decision was made to come back to Ducati. But despite there being some genuinely lovely bikes in the current range, nothing spoke to me the way the original Tamburini design does. The 916 generation is simply something else and since that realisation I have been quietly hunting for the right pre-loved, original example. I am delighted to say the search is over. I found this 2001 996R and I couldn't be happier to be back where I belong. Mark
