Think they finally sorted the slave issues on the 1260...have not heard of any problems......
I am at 1600 miles (U.S.) as I have owned it since last August. I am past the break in period so no worries there!

My guess would be that prior to being painted or coated there was some contamination on the part....should be a warranty item.
