you are right just looked at a spare flywheel no need to cut the spring it has a join -unscrew it its the screws on the back of the flywheel that...
those screws hold the hub to the flywheel you need to remove them? why? that sprag looks bigger than the ones l have seen 68mm o/d
that there spring looks slack as a very slack thing! it has a join it will unscrew chop a bit off
