I run a PCIII and JHP filters inside a 996R carbon air box and D.P carbon air tubes with the filter runners removed.

Why not just bead blast the cases, barrels, heads etc and leave them natural. Not all Ducati V(L) twin engines were painted.
Standard 998 models had 45mm pipes.
The 998s certainly did not come with 45mm pipes as standard, it came with 50mm.

I realise your brakes and forks are upgrades but your original pictures are of a standard biposto, not an "s". Is it a deep sump engine?
If that's how it left the factory it's a biposto . If the fairing is as it left the factory then its a standard biposto as the "S" had a carbon...
