get some tyre warmers - it's not just about being able to go fast straight away, it more about heat cylces on the tyre and keeping them in good...

I put a Lithium battery on mine... ..it was for a rsv though so isn't the right size and is held in by a bungy strap! no doubt a proper 916 one...

bog standard oem bikes are not equal. better to have "stock" rules as this evens out the discrepancies a bit. why not Triumph 675's in a triple...

JMT for the battery - avail on ebay £61 what year gsxr is it? if it's a k6/7 don't get diamond rearsets they are a b'std to fit as the rear...
how long have you had the bike? did you buy from a dealer or private sale? if it was from a dealer I'd be going back to them, assuming you ride...
if you go in the wet you (might) get loads of track time...if there's not many people they have been known to do a kinda open pitlane type...
