I use the spray white Lithium grease as you can get it into the sockets very easily ...not too heavy and easy to reapply.

You can get some from America which last longer but at a price, i think a set was about £130 for 8 halfs...if you have the money go for it....
I find replacing the wire collets first often means there is often no adjustment necessary....mine are about £12 for the 8 I need
