I dont have a monster, but I have used those plates as per your ebay link on my 748 and found them to be excellent, especially good for the money....
Yup my one was submersable type, and being that you have to change the fuel filter every 6k miles a low cost hose that takes two minutes to change...
I just popped into my local motor spares place with the split pipe in hand, got about a metre of fuel pipe for a fiver. Exactly the same...
