Can't imagine why they would change from plastic on the 2010 to a metal one on the 2013? Aluminium ones are very expensive.
Did they say they were replacing all the valves and gear etc? Mine were all re-used and ground (?) to the new head seats. I had new belts fitted...

Those are the symptoms mine had - have the exhaust bolts gone really rusty? New heads all round is my guess?
