Mine's jammed open on my '16 1200 Enduro, no issues, runs well, no faults.
If it's been serviced they'll have had the tank off (presumably) so I'd be guessing the Bluetooth module hasn't been plugged back in.
It's a bit different on the 1260. Menus and stuff.

Seat rebuild, mine was 90 quid. Bargain, massively better.
