I reckon the casings are the issue. Found squeezing the casing in a certain position stopped the noise, so wrapped the cable tie around it there....

Blowing up the picture, the tank appears to be hitting the steering damper mounting. Better budget for a new tank.

Searched some threads, and sorting it out seemed to vary from new cartridges, up to a new aftermarket front end. And Ducati denying there is an issue.
