Search 4 pin micro relay on eBay. Expect to pay around £2.50.
There are posts on the forum where fuel pumps have been rebuilt with commercially available kits. There are also posts on how to repair the wires...
The fuel pump relay is a 2 quid part, so start with that. A PIA to get at, though, in the battery box.
Rather than looking at the fuelling maps try comparing the ignition timing maps between the 749 and 999.
Whether you liked the man or not. He still did his bit during WW2.
Also worthwhile upgrading the starter leads as well.
