The Eprom is a year 2000 standard 748 Bip so my guess is you have a standard motor that has been rebuilt at some time. Doubt an 853 conversion...
It's a stock 1.6m ECU but you could peel the tape off, remove the bung and check what Eprom is fitted, may give a clue to what has been done to...

The TPS doesn't need a reset with a new battery. Check your air temperature sensor, if wrong can cause poor starting. @20 degrees C +/- 1 degree...

I wouldn't fit a power commander before having the balance & CO set up by someone that can! Will make a noticeable difference if the TPS, balance...
Could be that the voltage regulator failed when very hot, when you get it started check the charging voltage.
