Interesing AL, that exactly the same problem that I had after reassembling my original carbs, my issue was down to having the idle screw too far...

Ah born out of frustration I can fully understand that....
No need to leave them "marinading" over night, it won't achieve anything as the thread lock is anaerobic, i.e. the lack of air makes it go off.
To me that makes a lot of sense as I always take the wheel to the fitter, hence probably why I've not suffered with this particular problem
I use a 3/4in breaker bar with a 46mm socket with a foot on the rear brake and bingo! :upyeah: Who needs a rattle gun?
