The switch is usually disconnected (trace it up from the sidestand) and replaced with something like this [ATTACH] midway ish up the frame...
I thought they only came about on the later models, can't recall my 998 having any electrical connections on the clutch :confused:
Or push the boat out and get a set of digital ones, there's loads about for a tenner that are accurate enough for this sort of thing it won't be...
It's original factory colours not a "home paint job", just not a Senna. They did the same with the 748 also not a "Senna" [ATTACH]
Yeah sounds like the bypass has failed, as Chris says it's just a loop of wire to always short out the connector. The standard/factory switched...

Yeah got one on my 748 changed from stock to 45mm Termis works fine, if you know what you need go for it, if you're unsure I'd get one from JHP...
