Also, pull the rod out as you will need to check the two seals on it and grease that lightly.
So, it does have a slipper clutch. Looking at the rusty spider spring, I would very much recommend a strip, clean and regrease of the mechanism....
Has it got an open cover? Looks like moisture has got into the clutch pack and likely corroded the plates. This will make them stick together...
