IMHO the big thing cost wise is motor, ie does it need a split and rebuild. If it’s a simple paint job, fit a few bits, polish here and there...

Where did ducati go wrong? Had the head fairing off my 1299 for a year now trying to replace f@cking bulbs and now still can’t get it to fit back...

I have to say, a 916 is by far one of the simplest bikes to strip. You could have it down to a bare frame and sssa out in less time than a dealer...
