if you have a 5.5 inch wheel on the back the 180 is perfect. i went for metzelers race tec tyres on my 996
i love my 996 sps, that and my dj bike are definatly keepers
The 1198 is alot quicker than your 996. But as bradders says the 996 is a classic and only going up in value. The 1198 prob won't be as reliable...
I do love a clean 996.
As long as all the paperwork and import charges are made clear I wouldn't have a problem at all.

think that was mostly labour mate. i think the whole lot with motor rebuild, paint, bushes, bearings the whole lot was £6000 ish
Think it was about £1500 mate , though i rebuilt the engine ect as well. also louigi moto in bristol restore bikes to a very high standard
Just get a good make like yuasa or varta. Worth doing the starter cables while your there mate they transformed the starting of my 996

Tim at moto vation racing did my 996sps concourse spec. But dont expect it back in a hurry :D
