Interested to know why you had the lower clamps enlarged by wire-EDM, not milling. I know the advantages - just interested in your choice....
Or maybe try first with wet&dry polishing paper (2000 grade?) cos you might cut into the fibres with a coarse grade. Or, even finer, try cutting...
