Separate names with a comma.
I think the multi has a gear indicator.
Trace the switch wires up the loom,should find a 2 way connector,short it out (loom side) with paper clip.

@Exige starter cable upgrade is well worth the ££££££££, which may help the starting. New plugs + TPS reset.

I never found the old mish mash performed very well and was a bastard to set up. 1098 loom/ecu means I can flash ecu's with free s/w, TPS reset...

Stick with the 996 ones with the 996 loom. Although you may have to consider plug cap length. There was huge debate on MS as to wether the sticks...

Engine/frame nuts often loosen/fall off.
Dunno about titanium, but it's a jolly good idea to use threadlock IMO. Even the factory do.
