going by some of the other issues like too much engine oil... i think the forks may have been topped up with oil or the wrong oil ..so next on the...

my money is on whenever the belts were last changed the adjuster has been overtightened and the cam timing has not been set or even checked.

my point is you cant just stick a couple of valves in it and put the head back on.. it wants stroke squish and CR checking and i would probably go...

with the mechanical interface of valve to piston other things to consider might be rods and or crank are they damaged or bent?
