Another advantage is that you can remove the forks if required and it's easier to fit the wheel as the forks are unloaded and line up easier....

Less weight... All things being equal a wave disc will weigh less. I wouldn't use them up front but as I don't do much rear braking then a wave...

It's a Torx tool, doesn't have to be Ducati specific, in fact the one supplied in my 916 toolkit was shite and rounded off the first time I used it...
