Exactly. Our tyre pressure gauge is gauge measurement (i.e. relative to ambient) so if our tyre has 15psi in it when we measure it in our...
Pressure measurement - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia See absolute, gauge and differential pressure measurements, it is close to the top.
So what is the relative (to atmospheric) pressure in the tyre and what is the absolute pressure.
Yes, in absolute terms. Does the gauge read 15psi when it is open to the atmosphere ?
The whole point of a pressurised system is to raise the temperature to make the radiator more efficient; a hotter radiator dumps more heat energy....
Yes it is still 1.5 bar BUT the amount of stored energy will be 3.33 times more in the 20ft pipe compared to the 6ft pipe. But if the Ducati...
How accurate does it need to be, I don't suppose it has to be exact. Is there a pressure relief valve ? If there is, and I suspect there will be...
It could easily have boiled over at 115C if the coolant was at the incorrect concentration or a pressure relief valve vented early.
Of course there are many variables, which is why manufacturers, Ducati included, will specify which products to use and at what concentrations.
Do you dispute that additives alter the boiling point of a water based fluid ?
I have a 5 litre container of Muc Off which I now use only very sparingly and wash off very quickly with lots of water. It is interesting what...
So presumably there is a pressure relief valve somewhere ?
What is this "Box Hill" that people speak of ? Is it a Devils Bridge for southern softies ?
Two issues. Water, with additives, under pressure could easily elevate the boiling point over 115C, I have seen 120C on my MTS display. What the...
And here you are confusing pressure with energy.
The fluid in your radiator isn't water, it is water with stuff dissolved in it, and that stuff will also raise it's boiling point.
I find this quite reassuring.
