Has the clutch system been bled at the master cylinder as well as at the slave? The banging is usually caused by clutch drag....
Bendix MF work very well all round and for the money take some beating. Had no bad feedback in 7 or 8 years now.....
Ah, thought you was on fuel injection.... 4% is still usually a good aim for idle on carbs, but you won't get an meaningful readings just holding...
Around 4% at idle usually works well.
