Watching one of the italian reviews on youtube, they reckoned the V4 works even better on slicks on track as it has so much more grip to give.

V4 everytime. The 1299FE is to my mind the ugliest of the whole Panigale line thanks to the paint scheme.
Saving £660 for a year strikes me as a risk worth taking.
