For info, my 916 with Ohlins shock: 10mm unloaded, 30mm loaded sag. Distance between top locknut on shock and upper end of thread is 26mm.
By setting the sag, you will likely have to adjust the shock preload. This will mean the preload rings of the shock will end up where they need to...
