There are more reasons for choosing an 1199 over an 899 than just the power difference.
Too many people forget this is the ONLY reason for choosing any bike. My only concern with the 899 is that it might feel a little tame after a while.
When do you ever see a plod on the road to cause you hassle nowadays? I would just buy the bike, ride it and enjoy. Life has enough ifs and buts...

Its how they felt in my brief test rides though they were not done close together. Maybe if i rode one after the other i would say different.
Can 748RS engines be 853'd? To be honest that looks like a nice healthy map for hwat you want to use the bike for.
