True, but it could be anywhere on the bike that is drawing the current. It is the main fuse.
Are you aware that the 30A fuse at the starter solenoid is not for the solenoid itself but is the main fuse for the whole bike?
I've tried replacing the brushes with the starter in situ. It's far easier to take the starter off.
I think the MC3 software from JPdiag should do the trick. Check his forum for its use and the appropriate cables.

They are Evo-Tech. I chose them because they fit to the engine mounting points and don't clamp to the frame.
