Run race style shift on all my bikes, doesn't seem right when I ride a 'normal' shift.
Could be an 'R' style airbox fitted with standard injectors. Would be interesting to see the type of frame cross brace under the airbox

Seen it happen before. Hopefully it's your problem, give the connections a good spray with electrical cleaner.
I have to say I didn't have any problems with wind blast at legal speeds, but hypothetically at about the ton you might possibly get bounced...
I did this on mine, but not as much as you want to. You may require oversize cam pulleys to get the belt tension correct.
